Pipelayer Foreman

Nationwide $21-$30/hr

About this role

We’re hiring an experienced foreman to run underground utilities pipe crews on projects nationwide. You’ll lead day-to-day pipe work, manage crew safety and production, coordinate testing and inspections, and keep communication tight with site supervision. This is a hands-on lead role for someone who reads plans and profiles, sequences systems for commissioning, orders materials in the field, and enforces safe, compliant operations. Expect to plan daily work, run crew safety talks and PTPs, track production, and solve problems on site.

What you'll do

  • Lead and supervise pipe crews for underground utilities: set priorities, assign tasks, and keep crews productive.
  • Read plans and profiles, sequence utility systems, and oversee testing and commissioning of pipe and utility systems.
  • Run daily safety meetings and PTPs, enforce safety procedures, and maintain SWPPP and site compliance.
  • Order and manage field materials (sand, rock, pipe bedding, fittings) and coordinate inspections with QA/QC and local inspectors.
  • Prepare and maintain daily reports, production tracking, and clear communication with superintendent and project management.
  • Perform and direct advanced rigging, hoisting, and setting operations (including rebar cages), and handle on-site problem solving and crew training.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in underground utilities or heavy civil pipe work with proven crew leadership.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and profiles; sequence work for system testing and commissioning.
  • Strong rigging and hoisting skills; experience lifting and setting heavy pipe and rebar cages.
  • Track record of running crew safety meetings, completing daily PTPs, and maintaining production reports.
  • Experience coordinating inspections, testing procedures, and material logistics in the field.
  • Clear verbal and written communication; able to coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and inspectors.

Qualifications

  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification
  • SWPPP training or demonstrated SWPPP experience
  • Competent Person designation or equivalent experience in trenching/excavation
  • Documented advanced rigging experience or rigging training

What we offer

  • Consistent, project-based work with opportunities on nationwide projects.
  • Overtime available on many sites and clear expectations on schedule and working hours.
  • Hands-on training and chances to expand rigging and commissioning skills on real projects.
  • Field support for materials and logistics; structured production tracking and reporting systems.
  • Job-site safety focus with access to site-specific safety training and certifications.
