Responsibilities

Carry out a wide variety of general labor work, including - shoveling, raking, traffic control, moving materials, form setting, stripping and cleaning concrete forms, pouring concrete, vibrating it, etc.
Maintain cleanliness and organization on the job site.
Follow and comply with MSHA, OSHA, DOT and the company’s safety rules and regulations.
Conduct daily safety checks, including area inspections, pre-shift procedures and JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
Signal operators to align and guide equipment movement in the work areas.
Shovel, rake, spread and level the required earth, aggregates and hot asphalt mix as per grade specifications.
Load, unload, and carry tools, equipment and construction materials to and from work areas.
Develop operative skills and polish them to operate effectively as a team member within an essential skilled labor crew under the foreman's guidance.
Take instructions from and observe the foreman and the laborer crew to understand project requirements and generate maximum efficiency on-site.
Demonstrate a general understanding of all hand and power tools required for construction laborer jobs and their proper use on job sites.
Work closely with the crew in reading roadway plans and standard drawings, constructing and assembling concrete forms, reinforcement steel handling and placing, and finishing and curing concrete.
Report to the construction labor job site on time and prepare to start work.
Ready to work as part of a team and support co-workers or supervisors with other tasks as required.
Qualifications
For Construction General Labor Jobs :
Preferred but not required: experience as a construction laborer, general laborer, or any other similar job. The more experience, the higher the demand.
Ability to do strenuous, physically demanding work like lifting and carrying, in all weather conditions.
Some familiarity with construction tools and materials is helpful.
Know safety directions and willing to abide by them per company policy and regulations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to be punctual and have reliable transport to job sites.
Willingness to learn new skills while accepting direction and instruction from supervisors.
Flexible regarding hours and opportunities for overtime work.
